Post Holiday Report

OK, I haven't updated this worth a damn, I know. I'm basically in the same place I have been. Just got back from sailing on the Cason J. Callaway over the Holiday break, which brings me 25 days closer to writing my license and being finished. So I have about 4 more months of classes, and then I go out to finish my sea time over this summer. Right now I'm expecting to be sailing for Matson on a containership between the West Coast of the US and Hawaii over the summer. I should have my time in around the end of August and write my license in the beginning of September, after which I will take a deserved 3-week hiatus to hang around and do nothing of value.

Still working on music, though it was hard to get too far while I was doing my schoolwork on the boat. A wedding coming up in about of month (not mine). Thinking about doing another marathon, though it might be too insane even for me.

Otherwise not much to report and not enough time to provide any genuine content. And I'd rather the site sit dormant than update it with stuff saying "nothing going on". So thanks for reading, any of you who still bother, but it will be another several months before anything too interesting shows up here. But I do appreciate you all bothering to check every so often and hope to have something for you to find eventually.

Hey! A new post! I guess I'm one of the suckers who keeps checking back.

You ran in a marathon? Neato!

Yay! I checked back too! Laura's not lonely!

I think he did a marathon in Dublin maybe? One of the ones where you raise money for a cause and they send you off somewhere to run. It was quite a while back though, and I don't know if there have been any others.

Guilty. Dublin 2002, and that's the last.

This one would be less magnificent, as it would be the Bayshore Marathon in Traverse City, some 4 months hence. Not sure if I'll be off the training ship in time. Also not sure if I'll be able to maintain the running training in the midst of all else. But I've got a month before I really need to decide.

Oh! I do remember the Dublin marathon! That was pre-Ish-at-sea.

I say do the marathon if you're off the training ship in time. A lot of people can say they've been in a marathon. A considerably smaller number of people can say they've been in TWO marathons.

Ish, you could be one of those people. (I am none of the above.)
