Andy put this in the comments of an item below, but I thought it deserved front page notice. Its worth asking: Is this President so afraid of having to admit he's wrong that he won't even allow people who disagree *near* him? I share Andy's disgust for this kind of fascist behavior being forced upon the Secret Service (an organization for which I have tremendous respect). It's an insult to freedom and everything this country stands for. And its being done by our President.

Bush Rallies routinely eject people for their political beliefs

of course I ignore all others that don't believe the same as I do. Or maybe not.

ok
A more intelligent post. I tend to agree with removing potential problem starters during campaign events. You have to watch out for those rabid conservatives. Might try to beat of the liberals. With their canes.

But all in all, I say that the debates are a better place for that. If they were not wearing the pro-opponent gear, then I believe they would have been allowed in to hear the words.

At the same point, I would expect someone wearing pro-Bush paraphenalia to be removed from a Democratic rally or convention. As a moderate conservative, I would go to a Democratic convention to hear what the "other side" has to say, but I wouldn't wear pro-Bush gear. Of course, I wouldn't any way since I think he needs to re-evaluate his position on certain topics. Of course.

Go Bandarik. Anarchy forever. (Just kidding on the Anarchy)

I do understand why the Bushies have fears about Democratic partisans getting into their rallies and causing trouble. We have a long history in this country of not wanting to listen to the other side and keeping the other side from being heard by shouting them down or with childish pranks. And, it is my impression that Liberals have been at it for a lot longer than conservatives, who are just learning how to do it. I may only have that impression due to my biased upbringing though and I'm sure someone will come in to correct me (which will force me to go research actual examples rather than simply making unsubstantiated claims, which is way easier).

My objection was with the fact that the Bush people were kicking people out of publically funded rallies by threatening them with arrest in CLEAR violation of their 1st Ammendment rights.

Go Badnarik... or, what the hell, any protest vote. Write in any member of the band KISS.

Actually, I'm not crazy about Paul Stanley position on 3rd world debt relief. Ace Frehley's take is much more sensible.
