I was thinking this was just another annoying doomsday story, but when you point out that it could be accompanied by high ratings for the BBC, it does begin to sound like Armageddon, doesn't it?

Well, by "high" ratings, I meant relative to the BBC's usual ratings... so somewhere around 10 or 11 viewers.
