Spicy Science

New research this week reveals that spicyness confers an evolutionary advantage to plants subject to fungal infection. Posted here primarily because its cool. I'll save any editorializing about intelligent design, mainly to confound those who know how easy it is to get me started.

I don't really see how this helps to confirm intelligent design.

Oh well, it's a pretty airtight case anyway.

No, I'm not going to do it, damn you. Remaining calm. Thinking about puppies.

Puppies ARE a good argument. The fact that puppies exist and are so delicious without containing ANY capsaicin shows clearly that THEY didn't have to evolve in some ungodly jungle. They'd certainly all be eaten before procreating.

Anyway, if puppies really did EVOLVE, then how do you explain how puppies and dogs both JUST HAPPENED to EVOLVE at the same rate into the same animal? Yeah, gotcha there, you EVILutionist!

That last post may have officially made me a troll.

Oh, you've been a troll for years, but I love you anyway.

Interesting Atlantic article on metagenomics, biofuel, and termites, which glues together some of the recent conversations here.
